Week 3 - Day 4

Time to step it up (literally)

Alright, I’ve been complaining about lack of steps around these parks all week. Today, I’m going to do something about it and start park hopping.

In case anyone doesn’t know what this means, park hopping at Disney World literally means going from one park to the other. Crazy, I know. I’m really hoping that by park hopping from Magic Kingdom to Epcot, I get an increase in steps because good lord this sucks.

Anyways, we’re still doing our exercises in the camper. Today just so happened to be leg day as well, so these steps are going to be awesome on top of that. For today’s leg day, I think I did almost 70 lunges on each leg. 3 sets, each set contained 10 Reverse Lunges and 12 Curtsy Lunges. Combine that with the 10 squats and I’m definitely feeling it.

What’s awesome about this too is I’m a glutton for punishment. I knew today was leg day and I STILL decided to start park hopping.

I’m a genius, I’m telling you.

Honestly though, it wasn’t too bad. We didn’t go completely around the Magic Kingdom, instead just focused on Fantasyland and Tomorrowland to catch the rides we failed to hit the first day. Buzz Lightyear was down which sucked, but it is what it is.

I think it was the walk up the Monorail ramp that hurt the most. It’s at just the perfect incline to not be too steep, but hurt at the same time. We did make a pit stop at the Polynesian to visit Trader Sam’s, but I’ll talk about that down below.

Once we got to Epcot, we really only made it around the countries once because we were still enjoying the Food and Wine Festival. I could’ve hoofed it around while eating and drinking, but didn’t want the rest of my party to suffer.

With all that, I still didn’t hit 20,000 steps. Only made it to a little over 18,000. I seriously need to find the people doing 25,000+ daily at these parks.

Mealtime

Breakfast

Breakfast is still my banana and peanut butter “hotdog” with a cup of coffee. My bananas are starting to go a bit brown though so hopefully they’ll last till the end of the trip.

Everything Else

So, Food and Wine is still going on and I indulged, a lot. It’s honestly hard not to, especially when this is what we came down to enjoy. We wanted to get the most out of it all and I think we did that today. Is it gluttonous? Yes. But it’s a “once a year” type of thing and I doubt one week of it will set me back too much.

At least nothing I can’t fix next week.

Anyways, I mentioned that we stopped at Trader Sam’s in the earlier part of this post and I wanted to talk about it here. In case you don’t know, Trader Sam’s is a Tiki Bar located at the Polynesian Resort at Walt Disney World. It’s pretty hard to get into if you want my opinion. It opens at 3:00 pm and people were lining up at 1:30 pm to get their name on the list.

The reason I’m mentioning this here is because I don’t think I’ve really been talking about all the alcohol I’ve been drinking. I don’t drink very often, but when I do, I enjoy it. Especially with the Food and Wine Festival going on and all the different types of cocktails available, it’s a problem. I don’t get too drunk, but I’m enjoying the parks more than I usually do.

Anyways, at Trader Sam’s we did have some drinks and enjoyed ourselves before heading over to Epcot where we drank a bit more. I didn’t mention this to the AI Life Coach because I already knew what it would say.

Not only is alcohol bad for you because of the obvious reasons, but it is also very high in calories and they are empty calories. This means that it does nothing to satisfy your hunger.

Basically, if I gain any weight from this trip, it’s going to be because of the alcohol, hand’s down. With me splitting meals between my party and all the walking I’m doing, that’s not going to effect me at all (I don’t think at least). The drinks though? I’m the only one that really drinks. They may have a sip or two, but nothing like what I’m putting down.

But, like I said, I’ll fix it next week. I’m enjoying my vacation.
